Empanelment of Specialists
To strengthen secondary healthcare services across Punjab, the Government is inviting applications for specialist positions in 12 key specialties across all districts.
These specialties include Medicine, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Chest & TB, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Anesthesiology, and Radiology.

For every patient being attended above the 50 patient/day limit for OPD and 2 patients/day limit for IPD, the Medical Officer (Specialist) shall be entitled to an additional empanelement fee of Rs. 100/- per patient for OPD and IPD to the extent of such number attended above the limit to be calculated on monthly basis.
Frequently Asked Questions
Working Hours
At least 3 hours at the health facility. Monday to Saturday
Summer Timing: Between 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Winter Timing: Between 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Sunday will be weekly off. In case the work load in the health faciity is heavy, the timings can be extended after intimation to the concerned in-charge officer.
Private Practise
Can undertake private practise at any other location. The unwanted referral of patients from Government Health Facilities to any other private location is strictly prohibited.
Leaves
Allowed a maximum of 4 leave days per month. Inform the in-charge officer concerned well in time and at least one day in advance for making alternate arrangements.
Empanelment Withdrawal
By providing a minimum of one month's prior notice in writing to the respective Civil Surgeon. In the event that the notice period is not served, the Medical Officer will have to pay one month's salary.
Empanelment Transferable
Empanelment is for a particular hospital and is non-transferable
